Newsflash November 2015

Dear friends, followers, Sillizens!

Forgive me for doing the honours for Seamus, but he has partied all night and is currently sleeping off his debauch...

The reason for this party was that Villa Dark Horse’s cabaret show ‘Live!’ at 1 November, was a huge success! At least 88 spectators listened to the poems, songs and stories in the Shed of Gardenpark ‘Ons Buiten’!

The show was part of the Art Route Voordorps Imagination and because of the gorgeous weather the whole route had a lot of visitors, and guests and participants had a really good time. The banner, produced by Looney2, draw a lot of attention too. The Villa was assisted by the Rat, the whole afternoon, for which we thank him dearly. We also thank the board of Gardenpark Ons Buiten, which let The Villa use the Shed for free. Parts of the show will be published on the website in due course. If you would like to book a show please send an e-mail to info@villadarkhorse.com.

Kate on the other hand was an early bird and vigorously swept spring and summer out of the Villa.

Dormouse finally, was extremely happy. A second guest mouse arrived in the Art Collection, the Bowes Mouse:

Bowes Museum Mechanical Mouse (2)

According to the information of the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, County Durham (UK) the mouse measures 11 cm, tail included. It is made of gold with seed pearls all over its body and garnet eyes. It is not certain where it originates. Probably this mouse was born in Switzerland, about 1818.

It was found bij Joséphine Bowes in 1871 in London, at the jewellery shop of P. Albert. Since it feeds on precious stones such as diamonds and sapphires the owner of the shop was glad to be rid of it. It has lived in the Bowes Museum ever since, but pays a visit to its cousin the Siberian Mouse this autumn.

Enjoy!
