At the same day a new exhibition by Bloyd opens: Kunst in Soesterberg, September 21, from 12-17.00 hours, Oude Tempel, Tempellaan 1, Soesterberg.

Newsflash Villa Dark Horse 21-7-2014

Dear friends, followers and Sillizens!

Because of her broken leg Dark Horse changed the mountain walking holiday in Austria for a somewhat less hilly trip in her own country.

Dark Horse momentarily does some research in Friesland and visited her far relatives, who regularly passed by her holiday cottage in Westergeest.

In several places in Friesland she encountered statues of herself, some of them even adorned with garlands!

That Dark Horse was honoured in this way moved her deeply.

Furthermore she noticed that the Dark Horses in Friesland are ready for the future: they ajdust their behaviour in respect to the foreseen rising of the sea level:

In the meantime the rehabiliation of Dark Horse continued. For the first time since the accident on April 17, she put on her walking shoes again, on July 14!

Ms M. also joined the travelling party. She, as always, went to discover new species and visited preferably habitats with these signs:

Among the new species seen during her adventurous trips were the whiskered tern and the white wingned tern. But one of the most spectacular passed by at her third holiday cottage at Ruigahuizen. Here the sycamore enlivened breakfast with her presence.

There still is a quest for the little tern and the Caspian tern, but maybe more about that next time.

As usual I was left behind in the Villa and the rain patters on the windows. Outside the green frog calls to be kissed, inside The Rat and Kate are having a good time in the kitchen, and I, in my loneliness turn to my most precious companion...

Villa Dark Horse – Newsflash June 17, 2014

Dear readers, listeners, followers and Sillizens!

Although the mobility of Dark Horse leaves much to be desired we have been rather busy in the Villa lately.

Kate adorned the Backyard with some lovely chickens and an orchid primrose. One of the hens had a rather hilarious senior moment!

Ms. M. was inspired by the first bloom of the roses in the park and created The song of the roses at the Pond.

The Rat discovered the Venus from Willendorf in a tub of margarine en added her to the curiosities in the Art Collection.

In the Room of Life Dark Horse tells us about her experiences in the hospital in And then the world...

And last but not least Ms. M. met her old Dutch teacher whose inspiring lessons formed the basis of the Villa Dark Horse Project. In Late encounter, in the Sun Room, she describes how it feels to meet someone again after 35 years.

Guest performance: Harry’s CourtGardenParadise

The Villa hosts her first guest performance: poet/photographer Bloyd displays Harry’s CourtGardenParadise at the Pond, on view until the end of June. The Villa made the soundtrack. Bloyd announced that he will also attribute poetry in the future. We look forward to it.

The work in and around the Villa has finally come to an end (for now...). We thank Looney2 for the beautiful design of the website and the Content Management System they built for it.

We are looking forward to the opening and the response of our visitors. And now a well deserved drink!

After wallpapering and painting all the rooms of the Villa we are now in the process of furnishing them with pictures, music, texts and little movies. It"s hard work but it"s great fun.

We hope we will have a wonderful opening at the beginning of spring!
