Newsflash Villa Dark Horse, January 2015

Dear readers, followers, Sillizens!

We wish you a very happy 2015!

At the end of last year, the Villa was busy with the preparations for the theatre performance The Void (De Leegte), which she played with sculptor Hanneke de Munck at the Minitheatre at the NSDM-wharf in Amsterdam.

14 December was its première. A select company faced the cold and was captivated by the program of c. 45 minutes. One of the visitors made a video recording which probably will be available at the website in the near future. So also those who could not attend the performances will be able to enjoy The Void. Who wants to see the performance at the theatre is welcome at 11 January. See for more information the press release at the News page.

 In the meantime, after a long summer and autumn we floated into the wintertime. This can also be noticed at the Villa. A thick layer of snow covers the Studio. Outside changed its appearance and mushrooms manifested themselves at the Pond, the Vegetable Garden and the Backyard for example: a webcap, a vermillion waxcap and a boletus. At the Pond the common earthball opened and the fly agaric with its hallucinogenic substances nestled itself spontaneously in the Meditation Room. In the Room of Life the fragile Parasola Plicatilis surfaced. The mushroom in the Orchard is still unknown. Any suggestion is very welcome.

To counterbalance the dark winter days our robust house keeper Kate decorated the Kitchen with multicoloured 17th-century tiles with flowers and birds and the Sun Room was overgrown with autumn-red. At the Stable an anonymous admirer of Dark Horse left a pink rose...

Finally at the Mussaenda Frondosa Poetica four new (autumn-)poems ripened. Ms M. distributed three of them Outside (The yellow leaves, Every falling leaf and Morning Storm) and one in the Room of Life: Mythical names.
